On Wednesday, June 26, 2013, The Women’s Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation awarded Cincinnati Union Bethel’s Off the Streets $1,500 to provide transportation assistance for the women.
The women in OTS need to be able to access resources such as job training, education, jobs, mental health care services, and substance abuse support groups (like AA and NA) in order for them to move toward safety, recovery,empowerment and community reintegration. We supply bus tokens to clients so they can access services and keep their appointments. Since the clients have no income when they enter the program, paying for transportation is difficult, if not impossible, without help from us. The Women’s Fund has just made this much easier!
