Thank you to Kim Harper Salon & Spa, a salon named desire, and Mandarine Hair, Foot & Body Spa for hosting the first Salons with a Heart on Sunday, April 25. The staff at each salon donated their time and services to benefit Off the Streets, and we are so grateful for that generosity.
Kim Harper, owner of Kim Harper Salon & Spa, says, We wanted to help Off the Streets because they have a high success rate, and we felt it was worthwhile to bring awareness to the program. A lot of people don't see prostitutes as victims and they are.
Over 80% of the women who engage in services with Off the StreetsSM for thirty days or more secure stable housing and/or obtain employment.
Bobbie Stevens of West Chester was happy to support the program. She came in with her husband, daughter, and granddaughter, all of whom got a new haircut, except for her granddaughter who got a pedicure. The Stevens made a day of it!
Each participant received a reusable goodie bag.
