Guest speaker, Vice-Mayor Roxanne Qualls told the crowd at the Off the StreetsSM graduation, “It is very hard to graduate from anything . . . but you’re talking about a program that is about changing your life. That is an achievement that takes a lot of courage.” The seven women who graduated from Off the StreetsSM on Tuesday, May 24th, know this is true.
The graduates have successfully completed the three phases of the Off the StreetsSM program. Each of them has secured housing and gotten a job or returned to school. All of the graduates spoke at graduation, offering thanks for the positive changes in their lives, such as being reunited with their children and having their own apartment now.
