Miles That Matter

//Miles That Matter

Lots of Cincinnatians are getting ready for the Flying Pig Marathon, but that would be a recovery run for our board member, George, who is running the Strolling Jim in Tennessee – a whopping 40.6 miles!

George has been detailing his training on Facebook at Ultra for CUB – be sure to check it out and like the page.  It’s a fascinating look at training for an ultra event.  You don’t want to miss the countdown to race day.

Show your support too by donating in honor of George.  On our donate page, choose Ultra for CUB.  https://secure.pledgeconnect.com/donation.aspx?cincinnatiunionbethel

Consider sponsoring a certain amount for each mile:

$2 a mile: $81.20
This pays for a room and meals for a woman in our Off the Streets program.

$3 a mile: $121.80
This covers the cost of consumables in a classroom – paper, crayons, glue, etc. – for one day.

$5 a mile: $203.00
This pays for a window air conditioner and college-dorm size refrigerator for a room at the Anna Louise Inn.

$8 a mile: $324.80
This pays for a mattress and bedding for a resident at the Anna Louise Inn.

$10 a mile: $406.00
This pays for a learning rug at one of our preschools.

Be sure to read this March Soapbox with an article featuring George.
