Cincinnati Union Bethel has received a $40,000 grant from the The Greater Cincinnati Foundation (GCF) for the Off the Streets program, which helps women involved in prostitution move toward safety, recovery and community reintegration.

Of the total amount, $1,500 is from the Anonymous Fund No. 19 in Memory of Dr. Edward Rowat, $1,500 is from the Anonymous Fund No. 20 Fund in Honor of Reverend Shirley Cadle, and $10,000 is from the Woman's Exchange of Cincinnati Fund, all Field of Interest Funds of the Foundation.

This grant will allow us to continue to make a positive impact on the community, says Stephen MacConnell, president and CEO of CUB.  In the six years Off the Streets has been operational, there has been a 34% drop in arrests of prostituted women, and we have helped hundreds of women change their lives.  Our graduates obtain employment and secure stable housing.
