On Wednesday, December 7th, the Homeless Coalition awarded its annual Julie Martin Service Provider of the Year Award to Cincinnati Union Bethel and the Anna Louise Inn.
President and CEO Steve MacConnell says, “We are very honored because a volunteer nominated us.”
Alice Skirtz, who is part of the Friends of ALI Committee, nominated the Inn. You may read her nomination here.
According to Josh Spring, Executive Director of the Homeless Coalition, the Coalition believes that CUB has been a “model organization.” He says, “They, along with the women who live at the Anna Louise Inn, have signaled to the public that all have the right to be where they chose, that deep-pockets don’t give you the power to control others and that our city benefits from affordable housing.”
